2007 year end letter

Dear Friends,
2007 has been an exciting year for Staff of Hope and our partnership with communities in East Africa. Through your support and God's will, the ministries we've engaged in have seen great results.
The Oloile Secondary School in Kimana Kenya opened its doors in January, a short 4 months after the need was first identified. The inaugural academic year has come to a close for the 200 students of this rural Maasai area. The response from the surrounding community has been overwhelming in gratitude and support for the school. Next month the first senior class (form 4) will start and we eagerly anticipate their graduation and future success.
Major construction was just completed on a desperately needed medical clinic in Karero Kenya. The clinic, completed in partnership with Emanuel Presbyterian Church of Thousand Oaks, California, will bring health care access to people without even basic emergency medical facilities, let alone the full care that the clinic will provide. The benefits to this community will be immeasurable, thanks to your support of Staff of Hope.
The water drilling team will soon reach the significant milestone of completing its 11th well. This well will support the Karero medical clinic as well as the surrounding countryside. Staff of Hope got its start drilling water wells over seven years ago and has provided clean water to thousands of families, supported over 50 farms and provided stability to drought prone communities. This has only been possible through your generosity and concern for helping our brothers and sisters of East Africa.
While there is much to celebrate in the results of your support, there is still great need. The school still needs sponsorship for over 50 additional students for the 2008 academic year at $420 per student. The drill ministry is pursuing an additional drill rig to expand our drilling capacity and speed the expansion of water access in the Kenya/Tanzania border area. We have recently located a suitable rig in Kenya, and we are looking to immediately raise over $90,000 to complete the purchase.
